Ms. Jennifer
Hello!! My name is Jennifer Lopez and I was originally born and raised in Cali, Colombia where I attended high school. After graduation I moved to Chicago, Illinois where I received my degree in Early Childhood Education working in the field of education while attending school. Soon after I moved to Southwest Florida and enrolled at FSW and earned my degree in Elementary Education. I actually interned at Harlem Heights Charter while pursuing my degree and it left a great impression on me. After receiving my degree, I started working for the Collier School District in Immokalee as a second grade teacher. I had a very rewarding experience working in Immokalee but then I moved to Fort Myers and decided to teach in Lee County where I was fortunate to return to Harlem Heights Charter as an ESE inclusion teacher. I am currently working on my Master on ESE education. I am very grateful to be here in HHCCS, since I have been here I feel like I have become a part of a very special family. I love everything about this school, from the students to the staff and the philosophy of the foundation and I’m happy to be serving the children and families of this wonderful community.

Welcome to the ESE classroom!
At HHCCS I serve as a case manager responsible for coordination of the development, monitoring, and implementing of inclusion students’ Individual Education Plan (IEP). I also assist the general classroom teacher “including” the student in the regular education classroom. We work as a team to bring out the maximum potential of your child. We also work in developing academic lesson plans that support the Florida Standards that your child needs to move to the next level. I use different teaching methodologies that are specific to a child and his/her grade level. I help the teacher with accommodations and modification necessary to include your child in the classroom. My major responsibility is to ensure that the child is progressing in all areas, especially in Math and Reading. I work in small groups using activities that help the students with reading comprehension, writing and understanding mathematical operations.
